September 2, 2009 Dear FFA Instructor,
We would like to invite you to participate in our 6th Annual Equipment Contest coming up in January 2011. We are thrilled to be able to provide another venue for FFA students to showcase their work and creativity. Please visit our website at www.nwagshow.com for complete information and registration forms.
What You Need To Know:
- The show dates for 2011 are Tuesday, January 25 through Thursday, January 27, with move-in on Monday, January 24.
- The contest judging will be held on Tuesday, January 25. The judges will be industry employers, fabricators and equipment specialists. The judging criteria used in state FFA competitions will be used. Photos and information showing the progression of the project are recommended, especially in restoration projects.
- The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, January 26 at 5:00 p.m. We will notify the winning chapters prior to the awards ceremony so they will know to attend.
- Any project completed between February 1, 2009 and January 24, 2011 is eligible for entry. A school may enter more than one project however a registration form is required for each entry. There is no limit to the number of students that can work on a project.
- FFA Chapters that place first in their category will receive $700 in prize money; chapters placing second will receive $300. A total of $2000 will be awarded! This prize money is provided by the Northwest Ag Show and exhibitor sponsors.
More Important Stuff:
FFA chapters attend the Northwest Ag Show for FREE! We encourage you to bring your students and use our show as a learning tool. We also encourage you to bring an assignment for the students to complete and to have as many students in official dress as possible.
Is transportation cost keeping your chapter at home? Thanks to our event sponsors, we are now able to offer FFA Travel Scholarships to applying chapters. We will be awarding scholarships up to $300 to chapters on a first come, first served basis. The money can be used toward the cost of transportation and substitute teachers.
Please visit our website or contact me directly if you need more information. I look forward to seeing you at the show!
